Beating the Summer Heat
Summer means extreme heat and higher levels of humidity, which can make moving from one home to another far more dangerous and let’s face it,

Especially with the progressive steady rise of the heat each summer.
Get Started Early
There’s something about being awake before 90% of other people that gives you some extra motivation.
One of the added benefits is beating the heat that happens to really hit when it gets closer to the middle of the day.
Because the day can heat up quickly, it is best to get an early start, before the sun is at its strongest.
Early mornings can provide a cooler start, which is best for the homeowners and the movers.
In fact, most movers prefer early morning starts and will suggest starting as early as possible to beat the heat.
If you are going to have your movers work during the heat, make sure you have plenty of water on hand and allow them to take breaks if possible.
Be Sure Utilities are Turned On

Select a broad-spectrum, sport or sweat-resistant sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher, and don’t forget to reapply.
Pay special attention to sensitive areas like the tops of your ears and your scalp, along with hands and feet.
Also, don’t forget to protect your eyes from the sun with sunglasses.
Be mindful of how hot it gets inside of any vehicle.
With all the urgent precautions to not leave children and animals inside of locked cars that are in the heat, the same precaution should be used towards your things.
The summer heat can have a disastrous effect on certain items.
Such as electronics, food, candles or anything else that has the potential to melt or warp.
Be sure to pack these items up last and get them unpacked immediately and placed in a cool environment once moved into your new spot.

Lifting heavy furniture and boxes during a move can cause a lot of sweating, not to mention burn a lot of calories.
You lose a lot of water your body needs when you sweat.
Sweating means you need to replenish by drinking lots of H2O throughout the day.
Stop and take water breaks to ensure you are properly hydrated.
Breaks are highly encouraged for you and your movers.
Dehydration is a serious health concern and one that should be avoided at all costs.
It is important that you have water on hand for yourself, and for those who are helping you move.
